What to Eat and When to Eat It: Breakfast

Every body is different, and each of you require a slightly different diet for optimal health (this is one reason why we offer private coaching! If you are interested, email support@hhfusion.com for a Free Consultation). However, there are a few standard rules most people can apply to their dietary intake to increase health and shed a few pounds along the way! Here they are:

Do Not Skip This Meal!!! Would you start a road trip with your car running on fumes? It is the exact same concept, only our bodies do things like store more fat for the next time you try to go about your day before fueling up. You are also much more likely to eat a larger lunch and dinner if you skip breakfast.

What?

Breakfast is the meal I have my clients experiment with most. I recommend trying different combinations of protein and whole grains (oatmeal, quinoa, etc; not most cereals), mixed with some fruit and veggies. I like to have my quinoa hash with a small side of berries. I personally do best with a little from each food group. Some of my clients feel better with just protein in the morning while others feel best having a small bowl of oatmeal. You want the breakfast that leaves you full of energy and satiated until lunch. Check out the breakfast experiment to help you explore breakfast options and record how they make you feel.

When?

For optimal weight loss, drink a large glass or two of water when you first wake, followed by eating breakfast within an hour of waking.
